You might have seen a painting that is called “Allegory of Spring” or “Primavera”, with the famous dance of the Three Graces; it’s very well known. If not, you must certainly have seen “The Birth of Venus” painting, which depicts a beauty with her long golden locks blowing in the wind, emerging from the sea on a scallop. Art critics say that these works are «the epitome of the spirit of the Renaissance». Well, I made them! What, you don’t believe me? But of course! I lived in Florence, in the 15th century and my works were admired by everyone. I made masterpieces and I became famous; they called me Botticelli back then (it’s a nickname, you know). That Renaissance epitome is a hard thing to achieve and I used to work to exhaustion. I lived in a beautiful city but I had no time to enjoy anything because my life was only about art and work. So I thought I would be reborn as a cat to bask in the sun and lazy away the time, to enjoy life and people, to love and be loved back. But something must have gone terribly wrong, because when I was born the only things I saw were cars and trash bins. Where is my couch, my soft bed in the sun, where is my food? I wandered the streets asking the passersby but no one paid any attention to me. Only a young lady noticed me and talked to me, and I was so glad. I introduced myself formally: “Alessandro di Mariano di Vanni Filipepepi, also known as Boticelli, molto piacere signorina!” She looked at me goggle eyed; ah, the disappointment. “Oh, anyway, you can call me simply Sandro” I said. “You look the artistic type; do you like painting?”
This is more or less how we met Sandro. You don’t have to be an art connoisseur to appreciate Sandro; he is adorable on his own. He is also indescribably happy to have finally found attention and security. He is very playful and tender and he is looking to place his affection on a family which will give him that spot on the sun and the carefree life he dreamed of. They don’t have to be experts on the Renaissance; besides he will be enough to demonstrate that living with a happy and affectionate cat is a regular rejuvenation on its own!
Sandro was born around April 2018. He will be given for adoption to live exclusively indoors, in the Attica region, on condition he be neutered at the appropriate age. His new guardian will be required to cover the cost of microchipping him. Contact tel. no 693 663 1269
